Creating An Interesting Biography.

A biography (or 'bio') should include some mention of the genre with which you identify. It should also include a description of the type of group you're promoting (i.e., solo or band.) You should list venues you have played and artists with whom you have shared the stage or the bill. If you want, you can mention artists to whom you have been compared, or by whom you have been influenced. Also talk about current/upcoming releases, and state why people should buy them. Think about your selling points, and mention them in a way that grabs the reader's attention. For an example of a good bio, see Tanya's.

Try imagining your biography as a very interesting story, to be read and enjoyed. Be creative. Read it to friends and ask for suggestions. Always be careful to make sure grammer and spelling are correct.

Please note: This page is called "D.I.Y. Media CentRE" as opposed to "D.I.Y. Media CentER" because I am Canadian, and that's who we spell it, but in the interest of receiving seach engine traffic, I have changed the spelling back and forth throughout the pages. Feel free to complain if you don't like it, or point out any other spelling mistakes, as I am sure there are many. Thank you for visiting. BUY MY CD!
